Study for a term, fund schooling for a year.
For every course of language lessons booked, London Languages contributes funds to UNICEF towards their educational projects for children. “BOGOF”, in this instance, means Buy One, GIVE One Free.
Our original aim was to contribute enough during the course of a year to be able to fund the construction of a classroom in a developing country. However, although the funds are restricted to UNICEF education projects, we are not prescriptive on how they should be spent or in which projects they are invested. Following natural disasters such as the earthquake in Haiti, UNICEF can provide a “school in a box” to allow education to continue in such an emergency. With as few as 12 courses booked, our contribution could provide such emergency education facilities for up to 40 children.
UNICEF has been selected primarily because a very high percentage of all funds contributed to the organisation get allocated to projects, rather than being absorbed in administration. Furthermore, they are a global, humanitarian organisation not governed by religious or political constraints.
Since UNICEF are supported by certain significant sponsors, such as Barcelona FC, there are restrictions on the use of the logo in websites. However, we can provide contact details at UNICEF relating to our support of their education projects.
The contribution comes from London Languages funds and is not added to the cost of your course.
